<h1 id="playing-back-your-footage">Playing back your footage</h1><p>The video player opens when you click <strong>Play</strong> on any clip (from Device Footage, Saved Videos, or Reviewing Incidents). It&#x2019;s where you preview, scrub, screenshot, and act on a single recording.</p><p><br></p><hr><h2 id="the-basics">The basics</h2><ul><li>The clip&#x2019;s filename sits at the top of the player. The <strong>&#x2039;-</strong> back arrow next to it returns you to the list.</li><li>The <strong>&#x2039; &#x203A;</strong> chevrons on the far left and right edges of the player step you to the previous or next clip without going back to the previous page.</li><li>The <strong>progress bar</strong> along the bottom is your scrubber. The number on the left (e.g. <strong>00:34</strong>) is your current position, while the one on the right (e.g. <strong>05:00</strong>) shows the total clip length.</li><li>Unless timestamps are disabled, your camera burns its own <strong>date/time stamp</strong> into the bottom-left of the footage (e.g. <strong>04 SEP 2025 11:33:22</strong>). This comes from the camera&#x2019;s internal clock and is independent of your computer&#x2019;s time.</li></ul><p><br></p><hr><h2 id="navigate-frame-by-frame">Navigate frame-by-frame</h2><p>The centre of the bottom toolbar contains playback and navigation controls:</p><ol><li><strong>&#x21BA; 10</strong> &#x2014; skip back 10 seconds.</li><li><strong>|&#x25C0;</strong> &#x2014; jump to the previous segment boundary. Long recordings are stitched together from sub-clips based on your configured <strong>Video Segment Length</strong>.</li><li><strong>&#x25B6;&#xFE0E; / &#x275A;&#x275A;</strong> &#x2014; play or pause playback.</li><li><strong>&#x25B6;|</strong> &#x2014; jump to the next segment boundary.</li><li><strong>&#x21BB; 10</strong> &#x2014; skip forward 10 seconds.</li></ol><p><br></p><hr><h2 id="audio-speed-and-orientation">Audio, speed, and orientation</h2><p>The bottom-left toolbar controls playback behaviour:</p><ul><li><strong>&#x1F50A; Volume</strong> &#x2014; mute or unmute clip audio.</li><li><strong>&#x23F1; Playback speed</strong> &#x2014; slow down or speed up playback.</li><li><strong>&#x27F2; Orientation</strong> &#x2014; rotate the footage if the camera orientation was configured incorrectly.</li></ul><p><br></p><hr><h2 id="act-on-the-clip">Act on the clip</h2><p>The bottom-right toolbar contains clip actions and utilities:</p><ul><li><strong>&#x24D8; Info</strong> &#x2014; toggle the <strong>Video Information</strong> panel showing Date, Duration, Size, Resolution, and Bitrate.</li><li><strong>&#x270E; Edit</strong> &#x2014; open the clip in the editor to trim, combine, or add overlays.</li><li><strong>&#x2197; Share</strong> &#x2014; upload the clip to YouTube or UpRide.</li><li><strong>&#x29C9; Copy</strong> &#x2014; duplicate the clip locally.</li><li><strong>&#x1F5D1; Delete</strong> &#x2014; remove the clip. You&#x2019;ll receive a confirmation prompt before deletion.</li><li><strong>&#x1F4F7; Screenshot</strong> &#x2014; capture a still image from the current frame.</li><li><strong>&#x26F6; Fullscreen</strong> &#x2014; expand the player to fullscreen mode.</li></ul><p><br></p><hr><h2 id="incident-clips">Incident clips</h2><p>If you open a locked clip (either automatically flagged by the camera or manually locked):</p><ul><li>The progress bar displays a <strong>yellow highlighted section</strong> covering approximately 15 seconds either side of the incident point.</li><li>A <strong>&#x26A0; warning marker</strong> appears at the exact moment the footage was locked.</li><li>A yellow <strong>&#x1F399; UPLOAD INCIDENT</strong> button appears in the toolbar, allowing you to share the clip with insurers, authorities, or other services.</li></ul><p><strong>Tip:</strong> The incident marker on the progress bar is clickable, allowing you to jump directly to the moment the camera flagged the incident.</p>
